If you drive for Uber in a big city, you could probably make close to what you were making at Allstate. Especially if you were also willing to do part time at a grocery store/Target, or something similar to that.

Really? Are you working for instacart?
So incur increased expenses* driving for Uber PLUS get a part time minimum wage job to make ALMOST what you’d make at Allstate?
It’s easier and fiscally better to stop b–ching about the job you have at Allstate.
*Driving for Uber = no benefits, increased auto insurance costs, wear and tear on your personal vehicle, being a independent contractor means you pay 100% of FICA.
I was laid off from Allstate in November. Got a job right away doing in store shopping for grocery pick up. Actually a fun job and pay is not much less than my exempt position after 8 years at Allstate. For less stress, less headache, and less abuse The small reduction in pay is almost a blessing. Also to top it all off I am much more appreciated and respected doing this than I ever was at Allstate.
