Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

Severance on Thanksgiving and Christmas Eve?

Glad we are getting our money but the fact that most of it is dropping on holidays seems to be a sick joke. Must be a way for the corporate suits to get their rocks off.

@OP18zGXc2R - Grow Up. I can assure the officers do not know or care when we get our severance pkg. They are too busy counting their millions and can’t fathom the measly wages we make. I doubt very seriously counting all the salaries, benefits and severance payouts comes anywhere near their salaries and bonus’ will be. While having directors and Senior managers force the same old c-ap - “This is a budget year - not like any in the past” I’ heard that for 30 years. However, the last 5 years were the worst. Employee benefits, awards, etc.. were taken away. Changing the PTO days allotted - something that’s has NEVER been done. Bottom line - employees don’t matter. Customers are going to change their insurance companies after encountering our poor customer service implemented by officers. I have to wonder if the shareholders are REALLY aware of what has happened and what will happen with all the changes.

I feel the same. Like, im super glad to have it but come on now. Christmas eve? Also I spoke with HR earlier this week and was told I'd for sure get it in the mail cause my banking info has already been deleted... so either they lied to HR so they could have their laugh and surprise us, or nobody knows what the hll is going on. Or both.

It's ironic they did that. I retired, got out on my own. May your Holiday be enjoyable, despite the c-ap Allstate put everyone through. God speed to recovery for those impacted by the RIF.

Glad to have received the severance today. Now I can let this sewer of a company in the past. Although I do agree with OP. Depositing the severance on Thanksgiving and Christmas Eve does almost seem like it is planned. Like we must be thankful and show gratitude for needlessly being laid off and thrown out like trash during a global pandemic. They are something else. SMH.
