Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

Collecting unemployment issues??

I guess it depends on the state you live in, but has anyone had any issues collecting unemployment benefits after being laid off on 11/28??

First time I’ll have to apply for UI, thanks Allstate!

I received severance only just a few days ago but still have pending unemployment claim. Spoke with unemployment after a long wait over two days time to learn that Allstate confirmed I was laid off but then sent an AMENDMENT stating I quit the company and relocated, both of which are not true. Unemployment here in Ohio stated they have been seeing a lot of employers trying to dodge paying out on claims. Going on week 9 of pending unemployment. Nightmare.

Texas - unemployment benefits denied because I have received a full year severance pgk. If not, I would get $362 every week - after taxes. I was so hoping for the additional money to help out with the expenses.

In Illinois you are eligible for UI after the same number of weeks as your severance. If you were there 5 years and received 10 weeks pay, you apply for UI after the 10th week following your term date.

Here in Ohio they sent us all eligibility concern forms to fill out regarding severance. Those who didn't declare were later denied for falsifying their application by not declaring and those of us that had to fill out the eligibility concerns form for severance have had our weekly claims held and in "pended" status awaiting Allstate's derivation if information on our forms. Unemployment outright told me that Allstate does not seem in a hurry to get back to them resulting in our unemployment claims being stuck in limbo.

I am at 8 weeks worth if pended claims in file, 6 emails from Ohio unemployment telling me they know my weekly claims are pending, and unemployment saying they are waiting on Allstate.

I spoke to a contract worker with the Texas Workforce Commission. It didn't sound like she knew, she had to keyword search it sounded like when I had her on the phone. She just read from a script and even then it was confusing. I went ahead and filed, in my claim status there's an amount listed but it hasn't hit my bank account, so who knows.

Arizona here. Don't mention severance until you actually receive it. Once its in your account then you can report it. I was denied unemployment and can start filing weekly claims at the end of Jan cause my severance is two months wages.... that I haven't received...

Kansas is a nightmare. You can't get through to anyone. DOL facebook is full of people complaining.
