Thread regarding Schlumberger Ltd. layoffs

I'm glad I overbilled SLB

I worked in the financial hub as a contractor.

They kept telling me they would discuss with the higher-ups about getting FTE "next time," again and again.

I used to stay late for free and always ask for additional work thinking going above and beyond would benefit me, but all I heard were excuses. I can't blame them, it was cheaper to keep me as a contractor.

So I returned the favor eventually. I charged them 8 hours a day, showing up at 9 and leaving at 4, taking two hour lunch breaks, etc. I did the bare minimum and left early, and I feel completely okay about it.

F— you SLB, and thanks for all the free money.

No one overbills this company more than the legion of incompetent managers and executives.

Rest well, you're a drop in and ocean.

The real winner was your payrolling agency, as they likely got a nice% markup on your wages (including OT). Just another beneficiary of SLB management's incompetence for the manager to have blindly approved your time.

Part of the Schlumberger middle management is a disaster.

Corporate folks at CAM/SLB are ridiculously incompetent, yet they are s—ing the blood of the company and keeping it obsolete just to go with the flow and be yes men and women.

Lots of good people lost their jobs this year yet the company kept these leaches.

This company won't take much longer to rot from inside out. No business that allow this kind of mediocre management deserves to survive.

You overbilled, but SLB underpayed you, overworked you and then fired you. Definetely they won.

Sleeping at desks, coming in at 9 leaving at 4, taking a 2.5 hour lunch happened way before COVID-19 hit. SLB is totally clueless to who really works and who just shows up. The majority of the folks that really worked have been let go. They chose to keep the folks that are related to someone else. The one manager I worked for was in way over his head, he still works for CAM/SLB. I do believe in Karma and sooner or later he will get his to. A person can only be protected so long. At SLB your just a number, once their protector retired, Karma will come for them too!!

There are so many folks sleeping 5 hours a day during work time and taking 2 hours lunches these days, working remotely... Let's not get started...

Amen. And thats how it should be because we all know how well you good ol boys treat People of Color in the O&G industry–slb is one of the few companies that does the opposite for a change.

Houston Financial Hub control by Latinos management. I am pretty sure you aren’t Latinos. If you want to be FTE. You better come from “V” country. It doesn’t matter what you know, you will have good futures. Look around...

I’m just kidding I never did any of that. That would be unethical, like so much of the things management does. Fortunately I’m not like them.
