CEO commits to Quality Performance after recalls.

Beginning of a new trend of recalls and launch issues? Let’s not forget that JF was part of the team that got us here.

Agree with prior posts, accountability is key. At Ford we focus on "bullet proof" processes that become so elaborate no one can understand them. Where we do not focus is on the individual. Whether it be punishing for shotty work, or rewarding for preventing disaster. Example: There was a D&R engineer who was responsible for a $20M/ month warranty disaster (still on going, impacted high volume products for multiple years). This butt kisser got promoted to LL6 because the chief took a shine to him (that chief took the VIP; he was basically an industrial saboteur who cost Ford billions of dollars). So per the normal song and dance ritual denial set in on the issue, followed by a body count pile up, most failing before reaching 36K mi. Was this D&R demoted? Hell no. Was the Industrial Saboteur Chief punished? Hell no. Not sure how things are going to get better if that is the company culture.

Late changes, late failures, incomplete validation, hundreds of new issues found by test fleets, dozens of on-site mods – Ford quality is swirling around the toilet.

Farley knows the importance of good quality, he doesn't know how much work it is going to take to get quality back on track. The quality executives keep it simple and say it is due the company not following processes. This hides most of the truth.

Quality is so trending so well, just turned in a 3-Lease on an Escape for an outright purchase of a Volvo XC40. Never again will take a chance on a Ford product.

We should advertise that it’s our mission is to make trucks and SUV’s by assembling the cheapest components we can find globally by persons that will never afford to buy one. But don’t worry, other trucks wobble too.

We do assemble here so we look like “built in USA.” It’s so we can charge premium prices for our trucks (but you get a big video screen and reclining seats) and SUV’s (and that new electric car).

We value our customer relations and know that we will interface numerous times as we campaign or recall your vehicle.

Please overlook the pushback timing on launch delivery. We still have some bad suppliers and it’s just a coincidence that Europe had some thermal events with our née EV.

Our leadership team is top notch, just like the previous team, and previous team.

Think we have the perfect team now says Mr. Ford. Current team has plenty of experience helping us to be where we are right now.

Great things coming (have you seen the new train station sketches).

OMG, Anyone else see a line forming at the door to buy a Ford from us in 2021.

If Ford could commit to any sort of quality performance, they would have done it decades ago. Making c-appy cars - oops, they no longer make cars - (trucks and SUVs) is no in their DNA. They don't know any other way. The cheapest bidder and all that..... You can't change the direction of a battleship on a dime....

How about stop sending the Purchasing, Engineering, and Quality to Ford of Mexico. Sub par work and not to mention they refuse to even answer email, calls, or attend weber on issues. Hau TT is all hot on sending work to the giant Ford of MX he is building to replace US. They have no negotiation skills, c-ap engineering, and care less about quality. Not to mention work half as much as we do in US. Save a penny on low wages only to spend millions in recall. But of course that's not something Hau TT is measured on. A complete narcissistic id–t that Jim Farley needs to cut loose.

the quality that goes out the door of the plant is a function of our product development, our engineering ability, leadership at every level, and all of these diversity inclusion actions that promote people to places they should not be and there's no accountability when the screw up. yes cheap cost objectives and suppliers themselves have some equity but Ford changes directions constantly I don't know how they can actually keep up. there's so much focus on never hurting anyone's feelings you can't even say s— it up and get the work done correctly.

Quit cutting costs on components and systems that matter, and get rid of features that are just window dressing and don't matter. We don't need 80 modules on a car or truck. Also hold Director's and Chiefs accountable.

What people do not want is to have to pay $80k for a $20k vehicle.

What is new with this post - did the last three CEO’s not make the same statement?

If not up to one person, it is up to all of us, the suppliers, etc. however, since it is a driven by cost and profits, nothing will improve. People (consumers) don’t want to pay for quality anymore - would rather replace every few years than care to keep for ten plus years.

We live in a disposable society propped up by disposable income. You always get what you pay for....
