im one of the ppl being sent to kinetic with no raise or anything. -_- some say job security. we will see
All new customers go on the Meta, but we are not migrating switch ports. We do not have the manpower remaining in the company to complete these migrations. Its a skeleton crew and most day to day work is outsourced overseas.
I have two 5E’s, one DMS, two Metas and a Genband under one roof. Every CLEC we bought over 10yrs has a CO at my location and I just wish they would pick a switch and migrate, finally migrate anything. Just OC48s hairpinning every CLEC network together. And we pay another carrier to complete the xconnects between our own CLECs, its a nightmare.
We have been doing switch consolidations for years. Meta is much cheaper and more efficient to run than a TDM network. All of that TDM is now EoL and we have to steal from paul to pay peter to keep the network up or goto the grey market for parts. It doesn't make sense in the end to have 5 different switch platforms .
I think WS will merge with Frontier, then combine the ILEC sides and dump off the CLEC to the highest bidder...prepare for mass layoffs and worse (if it could somehow get worse) working conditions
