Thread regarding Riverbed Technology Inc. layoffs

I felt this deserved a thread...

2021 will be the year Riverbed breaks.

  • Riverbed will update all the 2020 sales, marketing, and roadmap slide decks with 2021 and re-present them at our virtual SKO requiring everyone to be on-camera.
  • The riverbed groundhog executives will crawl out of their holes and provide a 10-minute presentation, completing their annual objectives, and allowing them to crawl back into their holes for another year.
  • Annual sales leadership rotation that’s supposed to spark life into riverbed but really is just Riverbed exercising its “insanity” practices.
  • Tech leadership trying to convince us we are high-tech by blabbing words like “ML-like” or “big-data-like” even though it makes zero sense. It’s like McDonald’s telling it’s customers their burgers are “beef-like”, would you eat it?!!
  • Q1 will be a time directors, vp’s, and execs will busy themselves will trivial tasks to look the part of a hard-working contributor.

2021 will be the year Riverbed breaks.

I work in IT and saw a lot of good talent go in 2020. With a lot of structural changes, some deserved promos while some didn’t. But there wasn’t much of a choice but to promo these losers because no bigger loser with half a brain cell would work here for the $ they’re paying and talent. So what we end up with are unqualified leaders who can only talk a big game but can’t execute jack sh–. The new IT head is a smart dude, he’ll flush out these fraudsters in no time. Can’t wait for those worthless POSs to leave the company.

Based on the Moody’s thread, general sales slowdowns, lack of development, offshoring jobs, and all the “cost savings” Riverbed did the past 6-7 months, TB isn’t going to get their money back. So what’s next? A fire sale? Why bother hiring people, is it to show prospective buyers that Riverbed is a whole company?

I don’t know, there’s a lot of smoke and mirrors happening given the 300+ execs (directors+) that we have.

TB already know it's broken, they are only keeping it alive in the hope of paying down debt financing and recovering some of their investment

Also glad to be gone! I had to look back- it's like watching car crashes at auto races.

Perhaps with posts like these, leadership will change their actions and behaviors. They should know we have been seeing through their tone and rhetoric for years but chose to follow them since we had no choice and are powerless to fire them.
