Not sure about merit increases. I'm assuming if you get promoted from Assoc to VP you'll get some type of increase. As far as the bonuses go, it all depends on your line of business. But the guidance, like the original post suggested are salary freezes for VP and higher firmwide and bonuses significantly less than last year. Unless your are a trader of course.

For below vp, the bonus can be the same as last year or it can be any amount to zero. Hope this helps.

By doing you a solid, I hope you mean that they layed you off. If you are really a vp or higher you are overpaid based on all of your bs posts. You must be a vp as we all knows vps dont do anything but overload the assocs as those are the folks that get the short end

I'm on a team in AWM Operations and our Managing Director held a town hall today confirming that salaries are being frozen for VP and higher across the firm. She also mentioned the bonus pool is significantly less than last year. What a joke of a company. With record revenue, you'd think they would finally do the right thing. Every year they have an excuse as to why the bonus pool is small. This year they are blaming market uncertainty. Upper management keeps it for themselves and the greed continues.
