Thread regarding National Oilwell Varco Inc. layoffs

Rig Technologies

Man this group has gone to $ht. What happened to the go-getters this group used to have? The don't come back to the office without a PO people? The management team that actually had a strategy?

What a disappointment. Yes, we know there is a pandemic, we know there is a downturn and no one is necessarily buying new builds but my God, what a pathetic group of people from top to bottom. It is no wonder this group has been the worst performing group in the company for a while now. Ever since our failure of a CEO put this loser of a President in charge, the group has self destructed.

There needs to be some serious change. Its a shame how low we have become.

There are some really good people in rig, granted a lot of the really good ones have been pushed out since the change about 5-6 years ago. It is really time for a regime change.

Anyone left in Rig should get out while they can. Incompetent management has ran that division into the ground.

NOV is beyond failure. I wouldn’t let my own daughter work there. It is a industry joke now...they are several solid people there. They are blind and still trying the accomplish a lost cause. I admire the effort. Then it all gets was\h\ed away by a movie character like Paul Blart on a Segway.

Fair enough but when you have no clear vision and the industry is in the sh*tter then what??? Something has to give no? It's clear as day...we have a major issue with leadership, management and some lowlife's such as segway riders running the non-existent show.

That's so funny and revisionist history. One of the senior leaders (now retired) once called mud pumps the "backbone of this company and always will be". They were equally as ADD and all over the place with no clear vision or strategy in the past but the industry was strong it was impossible to fail.
