It is said and so it is without a shred of thought.
First of all, there is no job security in Aerospace of Defense. Some places are better than others, but Aerospace is cyclic and Defense rests with the whims of congress.
Besides, most of the union rank and file could not pass a clearance investigation for a confidential clearance, much less a secret or TS for a 'black' program.
They could barely pass a background check to work at Starbucks.
