Has BN lost favor with publishers? Why didn’t they get the Deluxe autographed Promise Land book? Last year they had Becoming. Why are inventories so low? And why isn’t damaged unused merchandise being returned and instead given to employees?

Also returns have been happening. Unused damaged merchandise is not being "given to employees". I dont know why you're making things up, it just ruins whatever credibility this site has when real things happen. Christmas is always a blackout period for returns. Been that way for years. You start again with a massive pull list on december 26th. Daunt does want fewer returns in general as part of his deal with pu listers. Thats widely publicized. If you're going to b—s— people at least do a better job.
They did get the deluxe edition though??? Are we just making sh– up now? My store got six copies. Others got a similar amount based on sales volume. Why do people on this site feel the need to lie?
That’s true. I work for a small publisher that sells a lot of local books to Barnes & Noble. We’re not extending the credit ( they pay for the books they sell and return the rest) we used to , to them. Now, if they order (whatever number) books they’re billed for all of them. The talk at our house is they’re not long for the retail world.
Sounds like the publishers have no confidence in BNs future. They used to extend a lot of inventory, taking back unused books ( and damages) toward future purchases. If they’ve stopped that then they’re owed A LOT of money or expect to get burned when stores close. Either way the clear take away is Pubs DO NOT trust BN anymore.
