We are all professionals and we are all aware of the career risk in a commodity driven industry, but the way that XOM went about this is all wrong. They didn’t need to be so callus and dismissive. There is absolutely NO support from the company regarding what to do to exit the company most effectively to preserve what you have left. No help from HR, no help from Benefits, no help from anywhere. Once you lose access to company sites and your email, you don’t even have numbers to call for help. It’s just not the right way to do this.

P&GA gave up controlling us now.. lol.. we should Lay them off!
I just noticed the title of our useless HR contact for UIS is “Employee Services Advisor” - what a joke!
All the contact numbers and websites are in the package you have or will receive. Read it and call or visit website indicated.
Take control. It's your future, don't look to a ridiculous website like this for answers!
This whole thing is sr mgmt’s fault. The press has been talking about the financial exposure of the XTO deal for a decade and yet no one acted on it. Now we are writing down huge losses like it was a surprise!?! id–ts.
It appears that management was either completely unprepared to help their employees transition because they were all taken by surprise. (Which speaks to poor management in forecasting) or they simply don’t care (which speaks to poor management in being human). Not many other options...
Another fiasco from your friends in HR!
What do they care. They are too busy counting their RSU’s they awarded themselves the same day they laid us all off
