Why are people already talking about another round in March? Can we at least finish this one before we get worked up into a frenzy over the next one? And I'm not sure where this supposed confirmation came from, we haven't heard anything about it - which is logical since people are busy dealing with the current layoff!

We need a lot of rounds to clean up the mess. Wait most people are messy so we need to keep on gong and firing people constantly for many years to come.
ExxonMobil announced global workforce reduction of 15% by year end 2021, so it seems as though there will be another round of PIPs to meet that goal.
Canada already said the remaining studies will be complete in Feb 2021.
OP you may have not heard of the layoffs in March but that does not mean it’s not happening.
I think people are only mentioning it now is because if you are safe it might only be temporary.
Just stay positive and stay on the market. XOM is a building on fire get out as soon as you see an exit opportunity
