Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

How’s Canada doing?

I’ve heard that St John’s gave notices out last Friday. Any word on Alberta? When can we expect to know when they’ve completed all notices?

Not a cynic.
But I've heard 'O, Canada' on occasion - mainly Olympics and world cup, hmm.
I've always thought 'Hallelujah' by L Cohen would be a good replace.
Even the strapping to the chair part.

We in the US don't sing the 3rd stanza of Rockets Red Glare.
Scared of both the past and the future.

All will be well for Canada. And their kind people.

I heard the severance package is lifetime coffee at Tim Horton’s. Not a bad deal, aye?

All of downstream will hear by the end of the week. Sounds like everyone is having a one-on-one with their supervisor regardless of outcome to discuss next steps.

Some teams have already had communication that they are safe. E.g. Finance. Others have been told they will have one on ones where you will find out individually.

Everyone gets a 30 min meeting where a script is read to you in a robotic manner.

How are they doing it out there? Notices to everyone? Or just those laid off?

Alberta started Nov 30. I think everyone who will get the boot will be notified by tomorrow.
