Thread regarding Xerox Corp. layoffs

You are just a number

If this pandemic has showcased anything, it is you are literally a number here. You, your well-being, your family, none of it matters in a corporate environment, especially one as toxic as xerox. You are essential only as much as trying to keep metrics reasonable to shareholders, not customers. If you think otherwise call HR in India and see if they ask for a name or usg number first.

I was happy with my core until the family that started the business finally left and we were under global and Xerox.

Not to mention HR of the last 5 years+ is the biggest Xerox farce yet, not a face available to employees either. So disconnected, etc. A model example of what not to outsource outside the US.

I’ll never forget when our core was sold to Global and I got a USG number. I’d never had an employee number in all my previous years of employment. It was at that point that things shifted for me. Granted, Xerox didn’t take hold until Icahn mucked things up, but that’s exactly how I felt my last few years at my core - just a number on a spreadsheet somewhere. An entity without a face, to be shuffled around on an org chart somewhere.

We’ve been just a number for years. Nothing new here
