Yes, I learned that I got laid off today.
BL are allowed to make policy for when to apply Garden Leave. However is a supervisor feels you should be put on it they have the final say.
So if they feel you are not taking the news well they can place you on leave.
Purpose of Garden Leave is to allow people to look full time for a job while still being an employee. In our group those being laid off elect the office today (walked out themselves not escorted). They still have their company phones and laptops. They were relieved of all duties and don’t have to come back to the office except to turn in their computers once they get their personal files and contacts off of them.
@vay+18cIKOLv - she'll have to work. In fact, they asked her to work 2 more weeks before the 60 day clock starts because the business needs her for something.

Folks saying they got put on leave - Can you mention some data like Yoe, CL and/or work group?
Garden leave here as well. I haven't heard of a single person so far that has to work any part of the 60 days.
For the person who's wife was let go, first, sorry that this happened (still waiting on my end too). Second, was your wife put on immediate leave, or will she be working through Feb.1?

I heard they fired the Rex Tillerson Tree in the middle of EMHC, it has till the end of the day to leave or they will chop it down.

People in my group let go first thing this AM. There was no scheduled 1:1. It was "do you have a second?" and they were let go. They have already left the building. Not sure if it's over.
Involuntary list published yesterday - Communicators should be notifying everyone today and tomorrow. The org chart will be published later, as that work is still being developed.
My boss set up a meeting with everyone on the team today. If you are or not on the list you will have a meeting.
Again low level employees will be more affected than managers...in my area I have not heard of any supervisor or managers been on PIP or this lay-off.
I have not heard a peep from any LTs in my unit.

Funny. I was just thinking it seemed like there were less people on campus today than I’ve seen over the past couple months.
More people showed up on Campus this morning than usual. Seeing people on campus that have not been here for months.
