Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

Any Global Projects news?

When is GP going to hear anything? Is it really about 40%? Pretty nervous over here.

Building 9 or 10 fpso in guyana and 2 to 4 FPSO in Brazil (over the next 8 years) will take only 400 people. We should turn over operatorship in Brazil to Petrobras and that will require very few EM people. Similarly a joint deal in MOZ with Total operating the LNG plant build would cut down on LNG project people, then we only need EM personnel to build in PNG. Qatar projects can be built by QP with only a few secondees to the project. Dramatic reduction in EM Project personnel if we turn over operatorship to Total, QP and Petrobras. We operate only Guyana, PNG and few FPSO in Brazil.

Depending on how many voluntary resignations, the layoffs can range between 18-33% of the eligible pool in GP. I have not heard any numbers for how many took them voluntary.

I heard GP Managers and Supervisors know today if they themselves are let go. Some in the function have already been told they are gone....
