Standard I.T. has been destroyed by Outsourcing. Somehow DXC and the other major IT Outsource players have convinced Client companies that it is a viable and cost effective alternative. I have done this and multiple other gigs long enough to know that it is not. I have yet to work for an outsource company using the ITIL method where there has been effective lines of communication between the client's internal remaining IT staff and the outsource company's staff. Permission issues, muddled procedures, middle management, and continual shoulder tapping at client sites have convinced me of this. It's a loose / loose (for client company personnel as well as the over worked supporting technicians).
I've decided to aim towards the field of computer programming and get away from Companies like DXC. There's flat out no future in the roles that the majority of us find ourselves supporting end users in this manner.
