Thread regarding UnitedHealth Group Inc. layoffs

DEPRESSED

I consider myself fortunate to still have a job but I keep hearing about other people losing their job, which s—s for them, and then my workload keeps going up. Tier 1's have been replaced with newbies so they always reach out to other agents for help, tools/programs are constantly down/not working properly so that means agents are trapped even longer on the phone with upset members, plus these are absolutely the most angry members I've ever spoken with. I can't blame them. I can honestly say that every single day at UHC is worse than the day before. I can't believe I've held on this long. What will my breaking point be??

If you are lucky enough to be over looked by your supervisor or manager, that is a plus. You don't get good raises or bonuses by working hard at uhc. What you get is high blood pressure, and stress. I was recently asked by my supervisor to be on a vital signs focus group. (That's a joke all in itself) and I quickly declined. I told him the truth, there's nothing positive I can say about uhc, or how they treat their employees. It's like watching a bad hallmark movie when the town hall meetings have all these cheerleaders on, spewing lies and deceitful b—s—. I'm amazed that some of these functioning id–t S believe what they are actually saying! Uhc spends millions on spy programs to watch the employees. But nothing to help the employees. I personally curse the day I ever got a job at uhc. Never in all my years working have I ever been at a company that has lied and treated its employees so badly. If there's a hell, uhc belongs in it.

It is a game. You have to play it well. I took time off and forced myself not to look at any emails. Before I would work on my Pto time off. But now, I am seeing so much abuse with PTO taken by senior management where I can tell they have not logged into the platform (it indicates the last time you were on) for days.

This does not mean I will survive a layoff. You have to learn to not be noticed. I do not send out any emails unless I have to.

My rule is that they have lots of issues to deal with. So they will get to me but they can only spend so much time beating me up. I just have to lay low. Take my beatings. Look for a job. The good news is this technique reduces the stress since I do not create any attention to myself. The more I do, the more they are in my face.

Sad. But doing less is better. I am doing only what is requested.

So if I find out that the company could save 20 million dollars, I cannot say anything since they make we do all the work and all the update and beat me up in the process. So I just say silent. New approaches and ways to make the company better will just have to wait.

My boss does not talk to me. I requested 1:1. So, I just stay quiet. Hope they go after someone else. Need someone else to really mess up and they will not take the time to talk to me. Less communication I thought was bad. But now I realize it is better for me.

Sorry to hear that. Many areas are complete cluster's. You have a job is about the only positive.

I am there with you. The amount of expectations has grown within the last six months on our team with metrics that make no sense. Everyone is not happy. I don't blame people for sticking it out but this company has progressively gotten worse over time and I don't see this changing. The only option now is to find a new job and never look back.
