Thread regarding Target Corp. layoffs

Can I come back?

I was laid off two years ago and would love to come back but I'm not sure if I can since I received a severance package. I've found a new job since then but I admit I miss Target. I was heartbroken when I was let go and I'm happy to see it's doing so much better now. Is it possible to reapply after being laid off?

Why would you want to give them another chance to do the same thing again? Layoffs will be co I get, at least in some areas of the company. Target has over-hired during the pandemic to keep the business running, because their overly generous paid COVID leave policies allow so much abuse that around 25% at every site is on leave at any given time. Once that gravy train stops, or they wise up, too many people = downsizing. Why put yourself in that situation again?

Why waste another minute of your life for a company and a CEO who punted you out the door to make their numbers look good? People like you are why CEOs get away with layoffs, they just count on you crawling back no matter how expendable they just made you...

I’ve seen many people come back and are still employed. Some come back after six months. Give it a try.

You can come back after two years of your severance payment. A number of people from Merchandising came back after their big layoff.

Definitely read up on your agreement that you signed for your company.

It’s not impossible to return to a company after they have laid you off.

Why come back? They punted you out the door because you were a number on a sheet of paper to them.

If you received a Target severance package you signed a Target severance agreement, your question is addressed there.
