Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

Management

Cut management some slack. As much as we'd like to blame them; they are EMPLOYEES too! They are following orders from the top and are just as nervous about losing their jobs too! Speaking from personal experience.

Managers had no say/insight in the RIFs that happened. Many actually got RIFed and subject to assessments themselves. Our managers were some of them. I think these decisions were made at VP levels and above with some input from Directors

Are you kidding me? These managers get zero slack. Their inabilities and ineffectiveness is as big a problem as anything. And this is coming from a leader myself.

Yes, most managers in this company are only leaders, when it suits them. Or when they can throw their weight around for their own ego. A lot of them just lime to hear themselves talk too. They left their teams high and dry during the RIFs.

I agree that leaders that are still with the company after these needless lay offs and who are enforcing these processes of additional work and abusive work conditions are full sell outs to big blue. Cowards all of them. They sat back and did nothing to try to fight for the employees and the department's that were screwed over by the lay offs. And now they have the gall to enforce the additional work metrics and increased work load? The additional queded claims? The additional chats? And I don't want to hear the excuse of feeding their kids or paying their bills as the reasons. Why should their kids get to eat and have a life when ours can't? They shouldn't. Hopefully karma comes back on you sellouts and all your kids have the same feelings of hunger that our kids have had to experience.

I don't blame any management in my specific dept. The ones I blame are at the top who have this plan for transformational growth and continuously make these bad decisions

I have zero respect in terms of profession and fellow human being for anyone who has seen this company lay off so many in such a vile and non-caring way when such lay offs were unwarranted and unacceptable AND who continue to sit there and peddle this company's ridiculous rhetoric and corporate look aid while employees are doubled up on work and made to work in impossible and abusive conditions. I get that many of you have bills to pay and families to feed but still zero respect as you "leaders" and "managers" bent the knee to your Allstate overlords to cover your own pathetic hides. No souls left in any of you. You sold out to Wilson and company.
