Thread regarding Ford layoffs

We used to build them right the first time

Our management hides behind spokespeople so they take no responsibility for another bungled launch. Same people, different roles. Time to lower expectations for employees and customers.

"As part of our commitment to delivering high-quality vehicles, we are conducting additional quality checks on several hundred Mustang Mach-E models built before dealer shipments started last month. We want to ensure they meet the quality our customers expect and deserve," said Ford spokeswoman Emma Bergg.

Call all retirees back to work so they can get things straightened out. Fire all newbies that don’t want to watch and learn. Develop standard SOP procedures for the next gen to follow.

Never time to do it right, always time to do it over. Have seen it time and time again.

BTW Toyota after embracing Dr Demmings SPC model leapfrogged ahead of USA vehicle manufacturers. More imposing that they only make minor incremental changes to a product leaving less stuff that can go wrong. Changing one part effects countless others. Duh...

@1dqm+18YrwvA8,

The dealerships don't mind.. they charge Ford hundreds of millions of dollars per year to repair the bad quality issues. However, it is a double headache for the customer first, the NEW vehicle has quality issues, and then time to drop off their NEW vehicle and wait for it to be repaired!

Our shenanigan's of fixing after build do not go un-noticed by the public.

Who in their right mind wants a "first off, second hand repaired" premium priced new SUV or truck (still cant call Mustang-E a car). We are so far away from center its crazy.

Just a friendly reminder that the leadership names are the same, just in different roles. Anybody expecting different results will be disappointed.

Here comes Silverado and Ram to attack our (limping) golden goose.

I saw major changes in IT that only slowed delivery and then delivered an MVP which is another word for untested and low quality. Ford wants change in processes and practices but the execution is poor resulting in Quality issues across the board.

Every single launch is a quality disaster and it is unfathomable to me that heads are not rolling. Hinrichs was scapegoated for the Explorer launch which was probably justified. But what's the excuse now? Nothing is going to change in the top spots because everyone there is Bill's boys. Farley will just give the family another story about how things are really changing this time and move on. This is going to catch up to the company very soon and it will be another reckoning.

But what about the socially responsible decision to buy and renovate the iconic train station...... doesn’t that count? The way to save detroit and detroiters bill is to provide jobs here not China. First you have to design test and sell a really really great car. Donating money to help people isn’t the same as providing jobs. Give someone a fish and the have a meal .... teach them how to fish and they can provide their own meals.

Complete BS that they have had to create a hidden factory to deal with quality. Can't imagine how much that will cost. How about they stop cutting in PD? Experience over youth anytime.

First Explorer, then 2021 F150, then Bronco Sport, then Mach-E. This seems like the definition of insanity. Ford management keeps doing the same things over and over expecting a different result.
