Can we just agree that as much as being out of work s—s, it’s still better than working for Allstate and being under that constant stress!??
I’d rather rent a room with 5 room mates than I would work at I job I absolutely hate again.

I was laid off in November and Im enjoying it 😊 It was like a weight off of my shoulders from years of burn out. Never thought I would be happy to be unemployed but having my sanity back was good for my mental health! I will never work here again...NEVER. I’d rather work at McDonald’s.
Keep getting worst....getting a severance means you are disqualified for unemployment in TX. Can’t apply for unemployment until April 2021 when I got laid off in Nov 2020. Anyone else going through this? I didn’t know that was the guidelines in TX.
When I was first hired 1996 the company culture reminded me of a Sears and Roebuck catalog. I always felt this company was stuck in that old tired cliche of a department store. Try as they may, many initiatives, new projects, upgrades, process changes, renaming departments and staff titles it seems they never could shake loose their roots. 23 years later I was kicked out the door due to age and salary under the auspices of not meeting the metrics well enough. What a joke these people are, happily left with a decent 401 and pension, still not able to retire completely yet. The feeling I had after about 2 months away from this despicable organization is hard to describe. What a relief mentally and physically. There is life after allstate and from my vantage point it is much better.
Y'all are crazy.
They try to control your mind working there. CSL's are brutal in that regard. Get out while you can, and get your life back.
Agree. I also received a call asking me if I would consider coming back. Um - NO!
I agree. After 27 years of working with Allstate, the last 8-10 years being the worst (eye opening to see that they care more for their pockets and Wall Street than they do their employees), I’m now happily unemployed/retired and am not looking back. I gave the company my all, only to be kicked in the teeth. It’s all a learning experience. If I do go back to work, it will definitely be for either myself or for a smaller, mutual company. It’s sad reading the posts, Allstate makes you believe there’s nothing better out there, and the kool-aid they dole out contains some form of crack. Brush up your resume and hold your head high. There are plenty of employers who will value you and won’t put you through the mental master*n that Allstate does. This isn’t the end of the road for any of us, it’s a brand new beginning! Peace out.
OP, I agree. I’ve had exposure to many companies and their cultures. Allstate is by far the worst across all departments. Growth and development are part of your goals, but there’s no point because you can never apply what you learn to the job. The company is to stuck in its way from top to bottom. They think everything is good in theory but will never change.
It is never better to be unemployed.
No, not at ALL .... the grass is greener on this side of the fence otherwise you wouldn't be looking for validation. It is always a struggle but still glad to be employed and sympathetic to those who aren't.
