Can't tell whether pretentious managers are more funny or tragic characters to me. They give themselves importance for no reason. I don’t know what these people are thinking and whether they are aware of our position. They act as if our profit margins are more than 30%. If they weren’t like that, they might be able to save what can be saved from this company. With the way things are, I doubt it.

We’ve all seen our managers and Regionals act in their own interest, not the company’s.side deals with local publishers to promote their books on an endcap , earmarked for other titles, is common in KY .
I can't even count how many people in our store were forced to resign or were treated like shlt until they walked out. I am disgusted by how the Regional Manager uses her store managers to do her dirty work. She even told one of our store managers to let the employees fight it out for positions. I can't even mention some of the other dirt I have on this RM.
I had a manager that was asked to resign by the DM for poor sales. They are not as protected as you thing, and often dumber than a bag of rocks. Down with BN, Daunt, Riggio.
Out of touch and been drinking the kool aid far to long , 5 years here never seen a manager lose their job or have their hours cut, they are very protected. It’s just a bad management culture in general.
