Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Bye Bob

I laughed when I read the circuit comments thanking Bob. If it is not done with integrity blah blah. Thanking him for his integrity and transparency

What is wrong with our times? People believe in what they hear not what they see and experience. Crazy.

Bob hasn’t acted as a person with high integrity. while cutting employees, employee benefits, giving employees min increases both as CFO and CEO, he gave himself and his hires extremely rich compensation packages. He reduced the stock purchase plan, retirement plan benefits (small potatoes) while getting $100m compensation in the year intel failed to execute under his leadership. He lied about layoffs. And did it intentionally by not addressing the question directly and honestly. You remember there will be no company wide layoffs. It meant there will be department focus layoffs. He laid off people during The holidays and covid, while he was getting $100million dollar compensation.

Folks judge people based on what they do not what they say.

Good riddance. Bob caused intel tremendous damage both as cfo (path to 30) and CEO.

Bye BOB.

The best thing that Bob ever did for INTC stock and "Path to 300" was to resign. Think about that. We could have had a Weekend at Bernie's CEO during the past 2 years and the result would have been the same.

BS was a rookie CEO that lacked technology experience, but despite that Intel paid him an exorbitant amount of money. And they made the same pay mistake with Murthy. Leadership needs some tangible, transparent and credible measures of performance — not just stock price, which can be influenced through buybacks — and then have compensation tied to hitting target values for those measures. Intel used to do that.

Congrats, Intel! I hope this new CEO from VMWare will prove to be a good one. Godspeed, Pat Gelsinger and Intel. It's time to regain your credibility!

Ultimately the job was just too big for Bob.

Years ago Intel likely would have done fine under him, just running itself. But the current moment is too challenging, and to make things worse he was weighed down for most of his reign by a disastrous chief engineering officer who was habitually unable to get anything accomplished. It’s time for a wartime consigliere.

No doubt there is a tremendous disconnect between the upper class and remaining classes across corporations and society.

I doubt democrats nor republicans will fix the issue; likely exacerbating the wealth gap for their special interests.

Classism... the biggest problem.

Was Renee James or BK any better? And you should talk to some of the VMware employees and what they think of Pat and what he's done there. (HINT: it's not a rosy picture). Not defending Bob...but simply stating that none of these candidates were or are good alternatives. At the end, they are lining their pockets.
