For those who are planning their exit, don't focus just on the big players. I got a job with a significantly smaller company but it's better in every possible way. Higher pay (slightly, but still,) better benefits, bonuses... People too often look at their options too narrowly and they end up going from one bad situation into another. That's how I ended up with Allstate in the first place. I can't tell you how much happier I am right now. Just make sure you're considering all of your options is what I'm trying to say.

Yes. Not all are hiring, but some certainly are.
Did you end up going with a smaller insurance company?
I 100% agree with this. As someone that was with a smaller local company before Allstate and seeing the toxic environment of corporate America I am now totally focusing on applying at only smaller companies after my recent layoff from Allstate. The only cons in a small company is they seem to be more susceptible to economic strife like pandemics and other stock marketing effective events, you are more at the focus of management since there are less employees, and you will need to be more personable that you may initially be comfortable for. Also there are less work from home opportunities ususally but with the "new normal" that is likely changing. Otherwise the pay, treatment, morale, and enjoyment of work is much better in smaller companies.
