Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

What types of surveillance

What types of surveillance does Dell use to monitor their employees.
Example. Mobile conversation recording?
Zoom monitoring? I’m not paranoid, (we’ll maybe?). I didn’t do anything crazy, but really just curious. Please don’t reply if you can’t speak with certainty! These are crazy times.
Please be well.

Your all safe. Outsiders are crawling all around the dell network. They have much bigger concerns than all of the posts above.

All your emails and messages are monitored for mentioning Michael Dell. That is why everybody is using MSD when they mention him in office communications!

So you can transfer files between Dell's corporate cloud and your personal cloud storage, or via email, USB, etc. We've all prolly done that and I'm very surprised Dell allows it, in this day and age. This is considered a security leak and most companies are working to prevent it. We can't manually monitor/control/prevent this with over 150,000 people. Dell will eventually get to an automated prevention security policy. Now, if you're on a watch list, ie WFR target, trouble maker, we are definitely monitoring, preventing and prosecuting IP leaks. Obviously things like source code are considered Dell IP but so is your so called customer list. It's not yours. Fly straight and you have nothing to worry about.

Data gets collected in background, but ultimately cycled off the servers and storage. Nothing is kept in perpetuity. Nothing is actively monitored. However, if there is cause, they can do a data and system review of your laptop and connection points.

That said, if/when you leave the company, the definitely do a system review to see if you dumped files onto an external storage device or external cloud hosting site.

They monitor all cloud account activity I know that for sure, personal cloud and business cloud (they monitor the uploads and downloads), so be careful. I would not use your Dell laptop for anything personal if you can help it...

Well your two examples are both 100% being tracked and stored, but I wouldn’t consider those “surveillance”? To me, surveillance implies tapping into your camera/mic or looking at your files/screen. I’m sure they have the capability but not sure if they actually do it.
