I have been feeling very unsafe going into the office and fear repercussion if I say something
I try to work from home some days during my week but my Supervisors supervisor always asks questions about why I work from home. They say there are protocols but why are covid positive on campus and coming in close contact with others? Is it just me or is anyone else feeling this way?

@1asn - what do I think ? From what you’ve written, I’d say that your job is unnecessary and that you should have been on the involuntary separation list. You’re a waste of money.
You are need in the office because you go to the food and amenities places in the buildings. You think this, does, shoes, restaurants, Dr office, etc don't pay rent to , exxon, but they can't pay rent if you don't spend your paycheck there. Exxon just recouping some of that paycheck back.. if you don't go they don't get paid.
You underestimate just how desperate XOM's situation is right now.
I thought exxonmobil had some of the brightest employees. The comments on this site make it obvious that isn't the case...
"They want you driving and spending money on gas. They hate the idea that you might saving on gas money by WFH".
Genius, sheer genius. With a profit margin of a few cents per gallon and employees representing a huge percentage of the American workforce (that is why Spring has a population of 100 million), you have uncovered the conspiracy. Those extra 5 gallons per month are the key to EM's survival. Well done!
The world roars with laughter at EM once again.
Nearly every case is caught outside of refinery or plant also. Too many people on this site are just ignorant or stupid (or both).
Nearly every case I know of was caught outside of the office. If you’re afraid of COVID try working in a refinery or chem plant sometime!
To those questioning how xom makes money from employees coming into the office:
They want you driving and spending money on gas. They hate the idea that you might saving on gas money by WFH. They view that as a threat to their business. Your health is irrelevant to them.
That the above is not painfully obvious to everyone here speaks volumes....
@2mer+18RxEw8a exactly, the sites are handling hundred of employees on site daily. Are office personnel incompable of social distancing and wearing a mask while moving around in the office? Sounds to me like it's just a bunch of poor performers that want to sit at their house and watch Netflix while "working".
We have contact tracing at the sites, of which, there is zero evidence of transmission in the workplace (office or otherwise) if done correctly.
Wow! This is the only major O&G company that I've heard of forcing employees to return to working in the office during the pandemic. It seems like a major health concern, especially with this new covid variant that is like 70% more contagious. It sounds like management is not tolerant of those employees with concerns.
What you in the office bc you are a worker bee and are not trusted.
WFH is such a farce. Me? I don’t really do much more at home than I did in office, which wasn’t much. Most of the time is just replying to emails and re-reviewing P&IDs. Paycheck is nice, but fulfillment isn’t there.
Spouse thinks we need to join a church...
I’m thinking of a psychiatrist?
What do you think?
The slogan, "Safety First," has been modified by ExxonMobil to, "Safety at First, then Git'r Done."
Your physical presence is a Key Performance Indicator for the Manager.
If you get PiPed by the Covid - that's many KPI points.
Salaries and benefits are also funded by debt. Should we eliminate those as well? Shall we let the owners of the company (shareholders) decide which is the highest priority? Careful what you ask for.
Exactly how do you “spend money in the office” and how does that help EM? Do you believe the cafeteria is a major profit center for EM? LOL
If you can’t go to the office to earn a living, have you not been to the grocery store, hardware stores, church, neighborhood park, family gatherings, etc for the past 9 months? Never? Yeah right.
Don’t go through life as a manipulated victim. If you need to stay home from work to be safe, you must totally isolate your home and family from any and ALL activity outside the home, and even then, you are not safe. But maybe you feel better.
I am sure your supervisor will let you work from home and you won’t be fired for that. But don’t let him catch you out and about, because then what would you be? SMH
Does the world shutdown for the flu? No. Very few people in the at risk category are being forced back to work. Tbh, statistics would also say that you are more at risk for injury at your house than you are in the office.
I hope that none of yall end up in the NSI bucket next year for being incredibly ignorant.
They don’t actually care about your health and safety. They want you in the office so you will spend money and do your bit to keep them afloat. Those dividends and bonuses have to come from somewhere. Right now though, both those things are funded by debt.
Same issue here. The things that supervisors will do for a new BMW... Never ceases to amaze
Have you heard the words fraud and pretense? I hope now you got your answer
