I think AIG learned a lesson, let’s call it the Bill Cosby effect. Drop them at the first sign of trouble, their premium isn’t worth it in the long run.
Statement from the AIG gods said Curt's policy is intact and there was an issue with the agent that caused this "misunderstanding"... Yea right....
- and the barbarians storm thru the gate.
Curt Schilling has shown support for QAnon on Twitter, which means he should go to the loony bin. I don’t know if that’s why they cancelled his policies....but does belief in QAnon come with a much higher level of risk for AIG? For sure. Apart from the liability that you could cause by being part of a, say, insurrection, there also legal liability as well. Don’t know if AIG underwrites Roseanne Barr, but if they do, they should drop her immediately. If a celeb said they openly supported a crazy left-wing conspiracy comparable to QAnon, that would also be risky.
Given that this was Schilling’s quote to the Washington Examiner, he definitely seems like a substantial risk: “ Cut out personal information and kept the relevant part readable, ... But ya, it's real and I don't imagine it's even close to what we will witness in the coming months, years, if we let the Nazi's win and the fraud is allowed to stand.”
Dude’s gone full conspiracy theory.
For once in this country can we stop legitimizing everything we do based on whether we like the individual. Schilling might be a scumbag, who knows or cares. This isn't about whether you like him or not or whether he deserves it or not. It is a matter of everyone's right as a US citizen. Whenever something happens to a person that is perceived as "not a good guy", the other side attacks that person and justifies the act as "he deserved it". Maybe he did, but maybe at some point someone will think you deserve it. Then what?
If there were other mitigation factors, fine, cancel the policy no problem, but if this was politically motivated it's not constitutional. period.
Schilling defrauded the state of Rhode Island out of $75m in loans and had to lay off his entire staff of over 300 employees. I don’t feel sorry for this POS. He and his ketchup sock from the World Series can go away now.
Schilling non-renewal has nothing to do with his politics. We still insure "My Pillow". If politics was a factor, we would not have even considered doing business with this company.
I would like to challenge someone from AIG that has official knowledge of why Shilling's policies were cancelled to tell us why the company took that action. God forbid the company cancelled the policies simply because he voiced an opinion that the woke AIG culture doesn't like
@4onq+18Rvo38R That's exactly what this cancel culture is all about. Even if you think differently than they you will be called out. Social media has to die before this gets tamed...
Danger is my middle name.
to the poster a few posts back. schilling wasn't at the capital. you literally labeled this man a terrorist and are justifying his policy termination because of an opinion! wow, how do you not realize how dangerous that is to every american?
okay, just wait until they come for you.
You guys are crazy. When you support terrorist groups your policy gets cancelled. That's what those pieces of sh– are, treasonous domestic terrorists.
Before I take a policy, is it okay that I am a bears fan AIG? There is a lot of violence in Chicago so I don't want to anger you if I root for the bears on twitter. Please guide me AIG. I have always wanted my insurance company to be my moral compass.
agree if you want your job stay silent. if you really want out though, this may make it easier to push some buttons and let them show you the door. its easy to agitate managers who are holding the supposed moral high ground. just something to think about?
This is the beginning of socialism. Taking away our freedom of speech. It's only going to get worse. My advice, keep your job, stay silent.
Getting back to their Chinese roots. If you don't like the message, silence the messenger. It is a very slippery slope when companies feel empowered to force their beliefs on customers. Scary no matter what side of politics you support.
AIG is fully committed to bowing at the alter of the woke. According to the Washington Examiner, AIG cancelled Curt Shilling's insurance policies because of his political views. UNBELIEVABLE!
What's unbelievable is how disorganized, undisciplined, and disconnected from reality AIG leadership is.
That's right mean poster. How dare you say bad things about upper management. BD is hear to grow AIG not break it up. Oh wait, never mind.
BD meant to say he was hear to grow Accenture, not break it up.
To the person who posted the links to the articles - what is your point? All things AIG are bad, no matter when they occurred?? Please recall Greenberg was at the helm when all this occurred, not the current management team everyone on this post loves to bash.
