Does Dell HR give out salary info to prospective employers? I’ve interviewed for a new position and I’m wondering if they give that info out. I fudged mine just a little (seriously just a little) but now I’m wondering if they give that stuff out. I know my manager was only allowed to confirm the dates I worked but I wondered how much info Dell gives out over all.

What is the difference what your last salary was, the new employer should be offering a salary for what the position is worth to the company. I wouldn't tell the new employer my salary or the it's history
Yes it’s illegal to give away, fudging is not good either, There are ways to verify the numbers. You don’t want to lose a dream job just for a “Fist full of dollars”. Dell doesn’t care as long as you fit in the salary range...
Yes
Or be honest and state the facts regarding current salary, mention that you're looking for an increase and $X is what you want to make a move.
Good to see you got an interview. Best of luck with it. Fingers crossed
Fudge Away
Love that expression!!
No they don’t. Fudge away!
No they can not, it is illegal. The prospective employer can demand to see your W2 to prove what your income was.....
They won't even tell you the salary bands so I doubt they'll give that info to other employers and why would other employers even care. THey have their own salary bands.
