Auto claims inspects is a mess

Working Long hours and frustrated customers and shops is the norm now. They assign us massive amounts of inspections to be done looking at photos or trying to convince shops to use virtual assist and push quality on us. Why’d they lay off so many adjusters ???

I’m an ldu adjuster and I spend so much time on the phone with customers complaining about inspections/TL that have been pending for weeks.... customers running out of rental before repairs are complete because it takes us 3 weeks to inspect vehicles. Because Allstate decided to lay of hundreds of auto adjusters and now we don’t have enough left to get the job done. Then when the customer submits a bad survey.... I’m held responsible for the result because I wasn’t able to charm them into not being mad about paying out of pocket for rental. It’s a vicious cycle and at the end of the day WE ALL LOSE

I can’t see damage in photos the shop sends . I call the ship back asking for more photos and they want to charge Allstate a fee now because they say they’re doing our work . Our bosses say we’re not going to pay a fee. We call the customers and ask them to go to the towyards or shops and take photos or do VA and they ask us why they have to do our jobs. Each estimate has about 5-7 supplements because we can’t see the damage and some shops call in supplements until we pay them what they want . Lots of fraud . Good luck writing a hail estimate or vandalism sheet . We get 6-8 assignments a day nonstop . Allstate is paying some much in rental . Some cars sit at shops or towyards for weeks before we get to address the damages or move them .

It’s a disaster, because of COVID they got what they want, near 100% virtual inspect. We got no training, there are no set standards and former field adjuster handle multiple states all over the country. There is no accountability and obvious very little integrity. Every other claim is a complete mess and fraud is rampant, yet no one seems to care. Shops and customer literally wait hours. And for some reason I still have a company car I’m required to pay for every month? I haven’t been on the road since March. I’m getting to my wits end, just trying to do my work accurately and fairly is becoming impossible at this company.

Because the leadership at Allstate are disingenuous people who think shareholders are customers. The only thing that will change the leadership at Allstate is a significant drop in Allstate's stock price. That's not too far off since Allstate's severity is on the rise and customer satisfaction is plummeting. Sadly, more layoffs will be forthcoming until there's a real change at the top of the organization.
