Just a heads up on the phased shut down of the Oracle HQ as the move to Texas begins. It's not a "one and done" layoff. Not everyone is given the offer to make the move. Expect a slow trickle to begin soon over the next couple of months. Lots of old timers on the chopping block. Old timers > 5 years at Oracle in key positions.

I doubt it. Larry himself said the policy going forward is to work from anywhere; he's going to be working from his island Lanai.
So headquarters moves to Austin, those who want to stay in the vicinity of Redwood Shores should still be able to. Nobody is being made to move or lose their jobs.
Well, have Warn notices been sent out?
The smart ones, already got Oracle to move them to TX years ago. And then quit. The people left, having to move family across the country....is difficult. Kids older than 6 grade don't want to. Wives/Husbands/Significant others....with jobs, are afraid and don't want to go. So it becomes a fight whether to stay in Sunny Cali. and find something else, or bit the bullet...
