Thread regarding State Street Corp. layoffs

Light at the end of the tunnel

I’ve spent months looking for another job and I found something very decent in terms of pay and benefits. I know some people enjoy working here; I hope it lasts for you. I know others are looking for a way out; more power to you and I hope you find something soon. As for me, I couldn’t care any less about the company. It has not been a positive experience for me and I’m glad to be leaving. Good luck to everyone.

Do you apply for the jobs from the marketplace or are they simply offered to you based on your resume/where you come from?

Basically how do you ensure you go from pool to severance?

Be funny to have the opportunity to interview and sabotage it yourself.

TM is a slow death. Why stick around for something your not interested in or else you should have moved along without being forced. My advice - Don’t wait. Stop being lazy and insecure in your abilities. Severance depends - if you are offered job and decline Its done no severance. Use the time in TM to update your resume and interview. Have them pay you for looking for a job.

Can you please explain what happens when you get moved to TM? Are you immediately removed from your current position? Do you continue to get paid? If you do not get picked up for another position, will you get severance? Did they explain how much severance? Thank you.

As a former State Street employee who worked for many years, (over 25), I did not find a decent paying position. I know of many others who found employment but nothing close to the salary they were earning. I also never thought I would work for State Street for more than a few years.
As a result of my underemployment for these last several years, I am planning on moving out of Massachusetts since it is too expensive to live here.
