Is it just me or have there been a lot of folks resign recently? I heard today that Gulf Bank has lost 5 in less than a month? Good to know the jobs are out there, I was planning on riding it out but maybe it's worth jumping ship. What's y'alls thoughts?

Shop supervisor gone as of Friday, all the knowledge and experience out.
I don’t buy the not paying suppliers on time line these days. A few years ago definitely but not since we emerged from chapter 11. Paying vendors on time is part of the loan covenants. If WGB don’t pay their vendors then it’s either a staff issue or the quality of parts supplied s—s. Every plant gets monitored and anyone not managing their receipts gets the president on their case.
Yeah I agree with “the grass is greener” below. And to all the people hating on the management team at WGB - Just because some of the leaders got canned at WGB doesn’t mean they won’t be a superstar elsewhere that pays their bills to suppliers on time, is set up properly and have the capabilities to achieve success. We got none of that here. I’ve never heard of a place that don’t pay their bills, this is new to me.
Left WGB a year ago - best decision I've made, other companies train, support, develop you, not just point the finger and then throw you under the bus.
Guessing Not@WGB is at one of the “high performing “ sites. Don’t worry you will get canned too
Truther went fishing and caught all y’all; so easy like shootin fish in a barrel. However, I believe it was never said that the leavers or sh1t canned never got better jobs. The jobs may be better but the quality of the employee is still the same. They will be found out.
to all of you working at Weatherford, it is not going to get any better! If there are other jobs out there go after them. When they let you go, you are not going to receive a severance package. No insurance, just your last paycheck. Hope you have a minimum of 6 months of salary saved. You will need every bit of it. Find a job and tell them you are leaving and then leave. End of the day notice at most.
Funny they all got better jobs, better companies and better futures, sounds like truthslayer is sad and tired from being under someone’s desk all day.
Everyone that left has a better job now, better company and better future. Stop hating truth slayer and get back under the desk you were under
Truthslayer mad they about to get demoted.
Thos is normal. At one time weatherford was seeing 50% profit margins. That was great while it lasted. Those days are over
Run as far away from weatherford and as fast as you can. Its a sinking ship
Good point truthsayer, except all those people got a better job (aside from honey monster go figure), so sounds like you just have a giant chip on your shoulder. Perhaps you’ve been there 20 years too long?
Remember to turn off the lights on your way out of gulf bank, you’ve been running the place into the ground for years.
Best of luck to the good folks left.
Von Ryan Express Blue Dough! That was the One I couldn’t guess. Thanks for the riddle. He is now a VP. Maybe you should copy his style.
Bet you kissed their butt when they were there
Truth slayer, you are very talented, probably why your loser a$$ is still there. Enjoy getting shut down this year
OK, let’s try again since it has been removed. For those who asked, it is all here, just take a good look. Redhead Devil, Honey Monster, Von Ryan Express Blue Dough, Good King Wenceslas last looked out on the feast of Stephen. Shell with a ton is a lightweight. Christmas Eve on Porsche Macan has got an ally in the end. Anagram gariC Camp with a bell attached. It’s not rocket science. All big up their achievements but did nothing. Good riddance. Boo hoo to the rest.
Is that person from WGB or where?
Aw man. Who now??
Just heard another key person turned in notice, WOW.
More bad news coming soon
That’s understandable. 4 GM’s in twelve months shows that the local management had no confidence in the future of our plant and so why would any of our staff be confident?
With no steady GM in place our plant is going to be unsteady for the foreseeable future.
The more staff that leave the more the downward spiral becomes a self fulfilling prophecy. After a certain number of staff go the plant will only function at a crawling pace in everything we do.
Sad times.
The uncertainty within is shaken, you can see concern on many faces. The communication or lack of from management is sending the wrong message, hope this can be turned around soon for the sake of many great and loyal employees.
Sorry to hear that Amirite. There were folks from WGB up here a few months back 'measuring up' but nothing was said then they moved Katy equipment into that building, so maybe it's not closing anymore? Although with 10 people gone and counting, it makes you wonder how long it can function anyway?
Hang in there brothers and sisters, we've all got bills to pay, but based on what I'm seeing and the conversations on this site I won't let an opportunity pass.
Doesn’t matter, they just refill completions manufacturing with more Cameron clowns. Also last project manager before she left told people WGB was going to be closing down. Just waiting for past due orders to go down.
The GM left on his own, he already had a new job. He was smart to get out, now hopefully he can bring some of us over.
To answer back to the poster - “Huntsville’s Finest”: I’m a current employee at WGB (nice to meet all of you anonymously via this site and I wonder who all of you are...?) and the 5 people you mentioned were laid off yesterday. There might’ve been a sixth but I am not certain. In addition to the 5 laid off employees, 4 more left on their own (1 was our GM) and 1 is expected to leave this month. So 10 ppl so far will leave or have already left this month and we’re not even mid-way through January yet. The rest of us are probably all looking. Most of us left are in low spirits, just going through the motions day in and day out with lifeless expressions on our faces. If there is such a thing as a mystical spirit animal in charge of guiding our plant to victory all this time then I believe we have been assigned a dying horse that was fed manure its whole life.
worked at WGB for 5 years and worked for 5 different GM's. SLB was in the building in 2007 trying to buy the complete product line. all the mgmt teams continue to make stupid hiring decisions. close the doors and move the product to ADM. we built 900 ONGC safety vales and shipped each one on time. Packers are the easiest product that WFT has left and the manufacturing VP keeps messing it up.
Yup, gulf bank went through 4 GM’s in 2020. Must be some kind of record?
Kind of a waste of time to hang around theres no raises coming. 3% annual is not a raise. Why hang around waiting to be terminated
