In France (and elsewhere in the world) at the start of the COVID epidemic, schlumberger asked its employees to be voluntary to work at 80% in order to save on their salary and support the company in this difficult time ( sigh! ) ... Lot of people were volunteers ...The workload has not been reviewed, the objectives have not been revised downwards, but the volunteers just lost 20% of their salary for the glory of this company . At the same time the company then decided to remove lunch vouchers from teleworking employees in order to save even more money and continue to give them to employees who come to work on site. But according to French laws and other regulations you cannot do that.. Even the French Gvt remind companies that employees must be treated equally in office and in teleworking . It is a social right and the employees in teleworking have the same rights as the employees on site. After months of discussions with the Unions and employees representative to assert the rights employees, an union and the work council filed a complaint against schlumberger. The company is summoned to court in France in February.... Also in February, employees will be in court against Schlumberger, over a calculation on vacation salary. The dispute is over how to calculate the salary during vacation. The current method of calculation would be more advantageous for the company ... and this method of calculation is contested by employees. Several unions are awaiting the results of this trial to find out who is right. Also in February, employees fired in 2017 for economic reasons will also be in court against SLB. They hope to invalidate the reasons for the dismissal in order to obtain greater financial damages ....Happy New Year..this is just the beginning ... Court is going to be the best friend of this company ...

SLB = Used to be
You’re too emotional about work, lunch vouchers? 99.9% of the time you’re gonna be wasting your precious time taking a company to court, unless it’s HSE related and even then you’re gonna have a tough time getting any kind of compensation. Myself I would employ my time wisely putting a resume together
They do that on purpose despite legality issues in order to make you want to leave the company voluntarily. Hal did the same thing more or less to an extent in the previous crash 6 yrs ago. Its sad to see whats become of the oilfield industry imo. So many glorious days of good salaries are now a thing of the past, and never truly recovered even prior to the onset of covid. All the best to the survivors holding on to their jobs
