Penny stocks, unlike XOM, probably beat inflation over the last 10 years.

A) XOM has 10% dividend but overall return is -40%.

B) Invest in the general S&P and get 10%+. If you were in tech, you got 25%+ this year.

If XOM people chose A, I can understand why XOM is in trouble.

10% dividend is nothing to laugh at. Better than penny stocks.
Lower the stock price, higher the return.
Look at it that way and all is good.

Seeing as CP chem and DOW chemical make money. Yes they will make money.

Also, our gulf coast refineries would have been shut down a long time ago if the chemicals market didn't make any money.

All chemical companies make money with low crude prices due to low feedstock and an oversupply of virgin naphtha that cannot be sold or upgraded to gasoline due to Corvid. The $64 question is, "Will Exxon Chemical make money when crude prices rise and naphtha is no longer dirt cheap?"

There are many good performers in the company when it comes to their individual areas, but those who have roles that directly impacted the company’s overall negative results (Dallas, Upstream Executives and any senior managers that support them) should be getting zero variable pay and average at best performance reviews. Chemicals is propping the whole thing up right now so they probably do deserve better.

Yay! Bonuses for all the executives and managers, extra coming your way if your head chopping exceeded the targets you were given

If exxon goes bankrupt, you're right, stock price won't mean much. I don't understand why you keep buying this stock, it's returns are much lower than many others. Hell, if you bought into Tesla, Apple, many in the tech industry could be up 60% + as opposed to taking the measly crumbs of this company.

Fingers crossed for 30's so I can continue happily buying! Stock Price doesn't mean much in many cases in history, and this will be another hilarious valuation in retrospect.

The chemical company alone is probably worth 20B for C's sake!

Merry Xmas

Once you are down in the pay, there is no place to go other than to the surface. Question is are we going deeper down in the hole or are we pulling out to the surface.

Exxonmobil has been falling for a decade now. How much pride does our leadership have?
