Severance Pay

Has anyone who received their severance pay have to wait 60 days to receive it? Or was it less?

36%? Interesting. Which state? Which state is your friend in who taxed even higher?

Our group's last day was 10/16 and severance deposited Thanksgiving morning (why Thanksgiving was chosen is beyond me). It was taxed quite heavily at a horrible 36% overall but that will vary based on specific state tax. Pretty much guarantees no Christmas for the kiddos. A peer in another state was taxed even more. You should receive a statement/pay stub in the mail a few days before it drops.

Sadly there really is no rhyme or reason to when severance us paid. Some received their severance within a few weeks while others had to wait 45+ days leading to further stress and falling behind on bills. Seemingly the higher up you were the quicker you received your severance based on who I know that received their severance and when.

Of notable interest many people received their severance on Thanksgiving. No way was this just a coincidence. More mindgames and arrogant behavior from these sickos.

I am ashamed to say that I worked for and committed unethical acts at the behest of this company for so many years. Including lying to customers and short changing and lowballing claims payouts. I with others plan to try to make right and make this company honest with the states in which we worked and served.
