I’m an accountant who has been PIPd. I want to get into an Ivy League MBA program so I would like to stay with A fortune 500 companies excited since I did not go to a very good university. Is anyone aware of any accounting positions at a fortune 500 company right now?

Maybe Argentina has some openings. Otherwise, get out and be a big fish in a little pond.
controllers position in xom are just learning and doing the bits and pieces. You will never get far. Take the skills and apply it somewhere.
Probably afraid bc your exposure in full accounting cycle has been minimal at xom...I mean come on, a controller at xom is not on par with controller in smaller company. Best of luck.
You can find cardboard behind Costco. Make sure to turn it over and use the blank side. Write your demands in clear bold black marker. Go stand at post oak and westhiemer by the Starbucks. You will get noticed. It might take a day or a month or two. But at some point even channel 13 might pick you up.
Work on your GMT scores instead.

To put it this way: if you are PIPed at Exxon, a declining company, consider the tradeoffs. Especially as a fairly new employee in Controllers that is being PIPed I can assume you’re doing some very menial work. Likely not particularly attractive to other F500 companies or top MBA programs. On the other hand, taking PIL and working to brush up on your own networking and job search skills in my opinion will be much more valuable to you over the course of your career. Good luck!
