Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

Which employees usually get met with first? Those being laid off or those who are safe?

Definitely the ones who are laid off are interviewed first. That’s what happened in July. This is so they can start the process to get people off payroll before the deadline date.

The ones got laid off first. If your bosses are suddenly too nice to you, watch out it is coming. That is the strongest ever hint!

Like the rose ceremony in the Bachelor/ette, or Survivor.
Awful reality TV drama.

Communicator is such an odd way to say TERMINATOR.

Are you asking for US or Canada?

In the US everyone will be informed and the communicator will determine how to tell those not selected. Most likely inform all that are selected to be laid off first and then call everyone else in for a meeting to say you are safe (this could be done in small groups or 1:1 as well)

OG poster here - I’m included in the training session tomorrow for supervisors but have a one-on-one scheduled for Tuesday morning. I’m trying to interpret what this may mean as preparation...

Even if everyone is getting a one-on-one meeting with a supervisor? (In Canada)

Those being laid off know first. They want to notify those as soon as possible, so they can tell their Manager it’s done.

Those that are staying may not even receive a call depending on the requirements as set forth by HR.

If you don’t receive a call than it’s safe to assume you are saved this time.
