20% of the total European workforce, OR 50% of the total workforce if you factor in the Newco spinoff. That’s a major restructuring! The real question is does IBM have the same plan in mind for the North America workforce? (they have similar cost and manpower structures) The May restructuring reduced services manpower in NA, but IBM has other assets that need to be addressed. (redhat vs legacy manpower overlap, and manufacturing/ development facilities that are no longer in scope) Want to bet where the remaining unspent 2.3 billion restructuring charge after Europe settles is going to be spent?
