Thread regarding Hitachi Vantara layoffs

Layoffs in EU continue

Layoffs in EU started sometime in 2018. All areas have seen massive reduction in head count. Started with finance, then came services, then came sales. Recently I see marketing and pre-sales colleagues having "open to work" profiles on LinkedIn. Infact folks here are awaiting their garden leave and paycheck. Hopefully they pick spring for my garden leave so that I can actually tend to my garden :)

Can’t tell what caused it (assumption is all I got) but for sure India is cheaper than Poland. Obviously that depends on a role, but on a very rough average I would say around 2 times cheaper.

India is not cheaper than Poland so this decision is not caused by $ saving.

The jobs in Mexico City and Costa Rica have have migrated already. When they talk about cloud, they are talking about more jobs in India. HV has been too fat since the merger with Hitachi Consulting in January. Layoffs ALWAYS follow a merger. This is not rocket science but simple math. Seen this chapter unfold time and time again. People need to focus on one thing ... themselves. Do not TRUST anyone especially fools asking to trust them.

I've heard that some of the functions in Poland are moving to lower cost locations like India. We've already been told that US jobs in IT are moving to India and Mexico City.
