Can anyone confirm that you can or cannot get unemployment payment benefits when you are PIP’d?

I would not select quit. We all know it’s a big fat lie.
I know of someone who was NSI, resigned and got the 3 months pay in lieu but when they filed for unemployment it said they were fired for not meeting minimum work expectations. This is shady from Exxon if you ask as they did not go through the 3month NSI probation plan which will allow the company to terminate you if you didn’t pass.
I took the PIL and selected terminated (not quit). If you look at the FAQs on TWC’s website it will say that if the employer initiated the resignation you were fired.
Under reason no longer working do we select "Quit" if we took PIL option and resigned?
Are u aware that when u file for unemployment benefit even though you resigned from Exxon in the 1st wave, they file a report that you were fired for not meeting job expectations. That’s the only way you were able to get the unemployment benefit. It s—s as a ew company can see that info if they pull your records but as long as you have a copy of your resignation paperwork you have something to show if asked.
Can confirm. Was PiPed in July, tried to pass it until August, waited until Nov 1st to stop being paid, applied for unemployment the next day, requested payment two weeks after that, and I already have the deposit in my account. One of the reasons I stayed on was to make sure I would get unemployment but after a horrible month it was no longer worth it to me.
When you apply a week will be held back. The company has 14 days to contest and they do not respond so it will take three weeks to get your first deposit. The first deposit will only be for one week due to the waiting week (first week held). After the initial payment you will get it every two weeks.
Correct. Was told it would not contest PIPed employees’ UI application.
I can confirm. I was PIP’d in July and was able to apply for benefits after my last official day. It has been approved and I have begun receiving benefits but took several weeks. I am guessing EM just does not reply to the letter TWC sends. I think they have 10 days to respond (contest) once they receive the letter.
