“France is excluded (from further job cuts) due to the previously announced restructuring,” a spokeswoman said.

Finland should be largely spared, according to Nokia. According to the Finnish media, social negotiations will start for 314 jobs in the Nordic country.

In Germany, the cuts are expected to cover 375 positions this year, or 12% of the workforce in the country, said a representative of the IG Metall union.

Total restructuring and associated charges of approximately EUR 600–700 million, of which approximately 50% is expected in 2021, approximately 15% is expected in 2022, and approximately 35% is expected in 2023.

Nepotism - It is in Blood of Nokia

  • - Politics - Very evident
  • - The So called Gods (Line Managers) takes full benefit of man power reduction due to restructuring. There is no relationship between your performance and job safety. If you question your line manager or HR they make sure that you will not be rehired. In there HR database the HR and Line manager put a remark and it will make sure that you will not be rehired.
  • - The Employe engagement survey is a big eye wash. It is a way to identify the unsatisfied person in group. The manager then try to take such unsatisfied person out by spoiling his rating or making him a part of man power reduction.

Advice to Management

  • There is too much power in hands of Line Managers. You have to understand that not everyone can handle power.
  • - The Line managers think and act like GOD. This creates a factory like environment. The Global restructuring which Nokia did might have been successful in saving some cost. But it had resulted in only the favorites retaining there jobs. The number of contractors in countries like USA and Canada are still same. The contractors are permanent employees. Do check your books on the number of contractors.
