Thread regarding Crown Castle International Corp. layoffs

406 total layoffs on 11/19/20

406 total. 250 were full time employees, the remainder were contractors.

Lots of layoffs in construction and service delivery in the west. Layoffs seem targeted.

Major issues with mismanagement and profitability in the CCFiber business. Records are a mess and executives/shareholders are getting lied to on the state of the business. Tocalino seems uninterested in solving issues, expecting him to leave/get ousted into his golden parachute.

Amazing how a company can take a turn from being one of the best companies to work for in the industry to circling the drain like this in less than 18 months (beginning of fall and institutional problems started long before covid). Three major reorgs in as many years with no clear direction and the promotion of mediocrity from legacy companies should have tipped us all off. Will be looking for another job before I get caught up in the next round of layoffs.

Unfortunately more cuts will be coming. I don’t believe Crown legacy or Crown fiber jobs are safe. Good news on the Dish agreement for legacy, but I don’t see the connection with fiber backhaul provided by crown. Perhaps a percentage of the sites in the fiber crown footprints, but the outlying areas will need other providers.

406 layoffs is the total number of full time employees (250) plus contractors (156) laid off yesterday.

Additional contractors beyond the above numbers are being laid off today after being told their jobs were safe yesterday.

It's an absolute bloodbath.

is 406 the accumulated laidoff employees since october, or in todays layoff? I thought it was 70 in October, 60 a few weeks ago, and 200 today?

A real shame, some very special companies were destroyed by this terrible management.
