Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

I want to hear the other side: Is anyone currently happy with Allstate?

Not satirical, I'm interested to hear from anyone who is happy with their job and the direction from Allstate. What do you do and why are you currently satisfied with the company?

I used to be an overachiever and performance leader. I was willing to be optimistic about changes and new processes to look for the benefits. My job was saved but the mental anguish and the handling of all this has me exhausted and unable to support how the company has conducted themselves. I was a person who "bled blue" but there's no blood left for my heart to pump onto the floor, is there anyone left that is remaining positive?

They didn’t have to do any of this to stay competitive. They should have up graded the computer systems years ago. If all the CEOs would take a small pay cut they could stay competitive. All they think about is money, money and more money for themselves!

Every year that goes by I have become a little more embarrassed to be associated with this company. No they did not need to do this to remain competitive @zbb+17ypKuxn
They could have stopped wasting so much money on the shi77iest advertising, done a better job finding suppliers for third party services instead of picking people’s cronies , stopped being fully dependent on Pilot to function and paying them millions when it could have just been employees, and lastly empowered employees to do what was best for the claim instead of always being tightwads to end up losing customers that didn’t feel valued or heard. Every right minded person knows when you empower and value the employee, they work harder and have a true goal of taking care of the customer

I'm disappointed. But grateful that they helped me pay my bills for the last 5 years. Am I happy? I don't think so. Im content. I'm going to be loyal, which is always a stupid idea.

There will be salary reductions in early 2021 as well as stringent increases in production goals. Good luck, s—ers who stay. My 24yrs on this plantation comes to an end in Nov and I am so excited. Gonna take my $110k severance and another $125k pension and ski, golf and tennis. Also cancelling all my overpriced Allstate insurance policies
Adios, mfs!!!

Ever since I started with Allstate, which has not been terribly long ago, it’s been a downward spiral. I’ve seen young coworkers grow lines in their foreheads from the stress of the past few years. Adjusters leaving left, right, up, down and all around. It’s heartbreaking. Working for a huge corporation doesn’t have to be so gruesome, especially under a guise of growth and transparency.

No I am not. I canceled my policies several months ago and saved a lot by going to another company. When your own employees can’t afford it you know it’s not going to work.

Not sure who will be happy but as a data scientist I’m sure we are the group who would never be fired but still, I’d rather this company give me 3 months notice, compensate me and let me go.

I'm not happy in current situation waiting to hear if I have a job or not. But I do feel blessed to have had a job for 31 years with decent salary & benefits, hopefully it will continue only time will tell.

I’m not happy either, I don’t like the constant fear. I found a slightly better paying job, but had to turn it down due to less pto, they didn’t offer as many benefits, etc.

I will keep looking, but also seeing what’s going to happen.

I'm not happy. I'm hoping this restructuring and cost cutting will only last 2 or 3 years. Upper management has made it clear they only care about the bottom line and not customers, agents, or employees. Even managers and direct managers at my job don't agree with all the new changes but they have been honest that we have to move forward with them. I am trying to look at the big picture and hope that once covid levels off and there is a vaccine and economy is better that things will return normal

That's a good question. I started with Esurance 9 years ago. Allstate purchased them right after I started. My job was spared for now but the stress of this combined with Covid has been almost too much to take. I'm actively seeking other opportunities including leaving this industry altogether.

I am. Allstate needed to do this to remain competitive. I’m excited for the future.
