Thread regarding Hitachi Vantara layoffs

We need layoffs

I think that we can all agree we need layoffs at Hitachi Vantara, that's a fact. But the problem is that the real fat never gets cut. The many, many useless layers of management remain while employees who do all the actual work are escorted out. So how about this time we get rid of the people who contribute zero to the company and take up more resources than any of us actual contributors?

I totally agree : way too much of the pyramid useless xls management that have no clue what is the customers / market struggle with...

We've seen today (27th October) lots of people being laid off @ Hitachi Vantara due to the fact that they are remote / not close to management heart : not in the office where all these wonderfull brains things they know what and how to sell.

Whish to all the good employee leaving (and there are lots that are really amazing people ) all the best and take care of them !

900 people were let go last week. More people to leave in January and March from the previous agreement with severance. Do you still trust me?

I was let go in the blood bath this week. I do have to agree with previous posts. During my tenure, I saw the same upper managers make the same mistakes over and over, often causing whole districts to miss targets. However, it is always the field teams paying the price and getting let go. The same “old boys” in senior management sit back and drink their expensed wine while the people doing the work never see a raise, and do all of the work until the old boys need another scape goat. Very sad state of affairs.

I really had the feeling that GK would be good for the company because how could you do worse then those that preceded him?

Apparently I'm very naive.

I left this company lat year. So sad to see this company ruined by useless layers of management team. Look at the company's span of control ! What is the ratio of a manager to employees? There was a post in here talked about everone is a manger!!! A manager has 1 to 2 employees!! What the F^c$ is that? I hope the new CEO see this.

Ever been to internal meetings in this company? 40+ attendees with only a handful of true contributors, the rest just surf the web, facebook, steam sports channel, watch youtube.

Good luck with trying to cut the useless layers of management. These are the useless layers of management that only care of building their empire, hiring their buddies, play favoritism (which is common in every company), getting the big pay and raises, then move on to another company. These useless layers of management has zero contribution to the company. the CEO must get rid of these FATS and use salaries for the employees that never got any raise for years!

Good luck, employees have been complaining about that since employees were invented.
