To the person at Webster in MFG that never saw nepotism First initials only. A/K , A/C/M/T, M/J. In design B/R. In planning B/T. Then there was H/S. And these are just the father/son/son inlaw combo's I thought of in the last 10 minutes. Oh yeah...B/B/K. If I asked my buddies i bet i could come up with 5 more quick. Having said that...I suppose it comes down to what someone considers rampant. All I'm saying is that I came up with that many in 4 minutes of thinking. Oh yeah. D/D too.

Sometimes it wasn’t easy to see due to son in law, nieces, nephews, married but kept surnames, etc. but some were blatant.

Nepotism? No
Cronyism? Hell yes and it k–led this company. It’s the dangers of that ‘family’ feel. Well, he’s a nice guy. Well, he’s our buddy. Well if I let this one go all his friends will be mad about it. Happened For the 20+ years I was there and up until I left which was very recently.

New management sees right through ya’all and since Ya’all couldn’t do it when you had the chance or didn’t have the guts to do it, now they are cleaning house THEIR way.

I remember vividly in 2004-6 when summer intern hires were based heavily diversity vs academic. Our office ended up with some pretty inept students, and we couldn’t do anything because not only were they diversity figures but also the children of Xerox (minority) managers, executives. It was all about checking the right boxes instead of the best applicant for the job.

I saw it a lot at my XBS core over the years. Many family members came and went/were promoted. Some of them are still in place today. It was always frustrating to see someone get promoted/hired when the position wasn't even listed as being available to the public, or even internally. It was just an accepted way of life at our core. Our core is now in shambles, so I guess in the end, who cares?

I have never seen nepotism in Webster in my many decades here. Cronyism, sure, as another post says. But there is very little parent/child/sibling/spouse sort of thing going on.

Think we are referring to cronyism and I have seen it along with the make shift jobs created to save their water cooler pals.

What's it called when only one ethnicity is left with a job out of your office? Forgot the name of that ism. They are pretty good with that one too

The nepotism was rampant in the 60’s and 70’s, and still exists, to a much smaller extent, today. That is one of the reasons CPM moved HQ to Stamford. I was visiting a facility in Roch once and came across a guy sound asleep at his desk, a guy that was always too busy to get me info. Asked around as to why this was allowed and found out the group of guys in this department all went to high school together and worked under their buddy. Quite a few officers kids getting their start at XRX. One was so bad they were actually fired (ballsy move) but hired back quickly into a make work position. That’s the way the world works. Connections make the world go round.

Only one way to settle this: locations with number of instances... Let the Xerox Nepotism Kumite begin!!! - Side betting strongly... discouraged/encouraged?
