If I leave in January do I get paid for all 20 days of my unused vacation?
Or is vacation accrued proportionally to number if weeks worked in a year?

Your 21 vacation allotment is granted to you on Jan 1st, however if you take it all in January and leave the company you will be paying it back. Basically they are giving it to you in advance.
@qhn+17uikEOV Is correct for AP. Looks like it is country specific. The saying goes that one shall join before the 14th day of the month and resign on the 15th onwards, in order to maximise the benefits.
@ddl+17uikEOV That’s the same information I was trying to convey. You just used the word accumulate and I said accrue.
Yes. That's how the 1st year works. That is not how the following years work. All years vacations days are accumulated on Jan 1st.
Your first year of work (at least as a undergrad hire), vacation is accrued each month (1 day per month). Every year after that, vacation for the year is accrued on January 1st.
I don’t think the previous post is correct. In the US, vacation time is received on January 1. So by quitting on January 1 you can receive payment for all of your 2021 vacation AND your carryover. (A great plan if you’re going to leave soon)
Short answer is no. Leave entitlement for 2021 will be pro-rated. While leave carried over will be paid, I suggest that you carry as many leave as possible over to the next year if you plan to leave.
