I am a US field-based employee, and I've been in my current position for almost 3 years. I was expecting to move to a new role (and location) by the end of 2020 but that's obviously not happening.
So far my manager has not given me an estimate on how much longer I'll be in this position.
It's frustrating to be stuck in limbo while I've watched my colleagues in Houston jump into a new role every 12 months.
Has anyone been relocated recently, or heard about the likelihood of relocations being approved in the coming months?

I’ve been sitting in my current role for 5+ years and am waiting to be relocated. High performer just no movement it seems until the impending reorg. Don’t let the negativity get to you with all the salty people on this board. Just be patient.
I got relocated in July from ExxonMobil to another company. So yes relocations are happening a lot. Not to worry, will happen.
you should be fired. I think that is a proper way to handle relocation hungry people like you. Fire all the exPat vultures as well.
you’re going to have to sit back and wait for the dust to settle. most moves are in limbo until groups have verified their “to-be” org charts and any mass-exit-with-package occurs to make room. sit tight for now.
There is supposedly a deliberate focus to keep people in roles longer (3+ yrs). It's starting to show at the refinery management levels as most seem to be getting to the 3 year mark before moving. That being said, there have been some Downstream relocations this year but definitely not to historical levels.

Lol fair enough, I guess I should've expected bitter feedback for asking about career advancement on a layoff board.
No need for race-baiting though. I am a straight white guy, so the company is not scoring any diversity points keeping me around.
