Thread regarding Barnes & Noble layoffs

Messy, disorganized store.

I work at a large New York Barnes and Noble and our store is perpetually messy. Our booksellers are worked to the brim and are completely backed up on shelving on all floors and are unable to recover most morning and nights. Management is checked out despite their being plenty of them and do little to help with the issue. They often seem to not think it’s a big deal unless someone from corporate decides to take a look around than they hustle the staff to clean up. The overworkhas put many of us in a bad mood but if we display any signs of stress we are often questioned about our “attitude” management here is just out of touched most just drink coffee all day, take smoke breaks and play with their phones while we shelve, do project help customers and run around to back up cash or to cover breaks. Any one else experience this were they work a colleague of mine works in another borough and says everyone at his store works together to get shelving done and their store is always clean. Thanks.

I even know employees who had their accounts hacked because of this.

Sure you did. Nice try spinning this.

What a troll. How did you handle smoothly? What it didn't effect your store? Read the tech articles, so many nook users are going to Kindle. BN is toast after this. Question is how does the CIO of BN still have a job?

Our store is a mess, has been since before COVID, even worse now. Like yours, our Mgrs have also “checked out”.We just do what we can & go home.

The cyber attack crippled us last weekend.
Even the food order was agonizing, because you needed to fax all the product codes.

But the registers have needed major updates since before covid.

Retail sales everywhere, just tanking.
Sad to see.

You're not alone. Everyone is waiting for the word to close up and after this last cyber attack, it may be coming even sooner. No reason to get stressed out, just yes them to death and do whatever you want.
No one cares anymore.
